MIMTEC NIMBUS SETTING UP

Press the Setup key (U). The LED Display on the receiver shows COd E indicating that your 4-digit code should be entered. The PIN number is available from your installation engineer. Enter your PIN code within 3 seconds using the numeric keys (R). If you fail to enter the PIN code the receiver will return to normal operation. If this occurs press the Setup key again and retry. If the correct code is entered on time the LED Display will flash the current channel viewed after 3 seconds.

Channel
Upon entry into Setup this option will be selected. Select the channel number you wish to modify using the Channel up/down keys (S). Press the Setup key (U). The channel number will then stop flashing and the LEO Display will flash alternately between FNCy and the last four digits of the frequency.

Frequency
The frequency setting of each channel is factory pre-tuned and should be correct. However, this setting may be adjusted by either of two methods.

Frequency direct access
Enter the frequency required between 10.950 and 11.750 GHz using the numeric keys (R).

Frequency indirect access
Adjust the frequency up or down using the Channel up/down key (S).
The television picture will show the effect of adjusting the frequency, press the Setup key (U). The frequency will stop flashing and the LED Display will alternate between POL and HOr I VEr

Polarity Selection
To alter the polarity of the channel press the Channel up/down key (S) to switch between horizontal HOr and vertical UEr polarity. While the required polarity is shown on the LED Display press the Setup key (U). The polarity will stop flashing and the LED Display will alternate between dCdr and OF /NAC /PAL

Decoder
Two types of decoder may be connected to your receiver for decoding scrambled channels. These are either MAC decoders (used for decoding digital MAC signals) or PAL decoders such as the Sky decoder. Select the desired decoder option. or select ''off'' if the channel is unscrambled and requires no decoder, by pressing the Channel up/down keys (S) until the desired decoder type is displayed. Press the Setup key (U). The decoder will stop flashing and the LED Display will alternate between PLOC, and
on /OFF

Parental Lock
Press the Channel up/down keys (S) to select parental lock to be on or off. If lock is selected to be on it will be necessary to enter your 4-digit PIN code whenever you wish to view this channel. Once you have selected the required lock status press Setup key (U). The LED Display shows the last four digits of the frequency.
If you wish to check that the settings you have entered are correct repeatedly pressing the Setup key will step through the parameters. To alter any of the parameters repeat the above procedures.

Removing Parental Lock:
Press SETUP
The display will show COdE
Enter: 2 7 1 8 2 (within 3 seconds)
The display wil flash PIN and 9999 alternately.
Enter 9 9 9 9
Press STORE

Altering Another Channel
To alter the settings of another channel, press the Store key (V) once. This will store all the data previously altered and allow selection of another channel to be altered without leaving the Setup mode. You may now proceed as described at the beginning of this setup section.

Storing the New Data
To store the new data press the Store key (V) twice. You will then return to normal viewing with your newly programmed settings.
Exiting set up without storing the new data
At any time during set up you may return to normal viewing without storing data that you might have changed. To do this press the Normal key (W) once.

VIDEO RECORDING

Time
Pressing the Prog key (X) once will cause the current time to be displayed on the LED Display. To return to the channel display press the Normal key (W).

Setting timer
Pressing the Prog key (X) twice will allow access to the timer programming. The LED Display will read P. I for programme number one. Select the programme number by pressing one of the keys 1 to 4.
After the programme number has been set the LED Display shows CHO1** / . Select the channel number to be recorded by entering the required channel number. If the parental lock is enabled then the PIN code must be entered when the LED Display shows COdE .
The LED Display will now flash alternately between Stat and the present time. The programme start time can now be entered in 24 hour format using the 0 to 9 keys.
After the start time has been entered the LED Display will flash alternately between Stop and the present time. The programme stop time can now be entered in 24 hour format using the 0 to 9 keys.
The LED Display will now flash St together with the programme number to verify that the programme has been entered. Press the Prog key (X) to set the day on which the recording is to take place. The LED Display will show a day of the week. To enter the required day that the recording is to take place press the keys 1 to 7 for Monday to Sunday. The LED Display will now flash to indicate that the programming is complete. Press the Store key (V) to complete the programme setting and return the unit to normal operation.

Day of the week keys:
Numeric key 1 = Monday Numeric key 5 = Friday
Numeric key 2 = Tuesday Numeric key 6 = Saturday
Numeric key 3 = Wednesday Numeric key 7 = Sunday
Numeric key 4 = Thursday

At any stage during programming pressing the Store key (V) will activate the programme and pressing the Normal key (W) will cancel the programme.

Operation of timer
If the unit is in standby mode, 1 minute before the programme start time the unit will switch on. select the required channel and the LED Display will show the programme number. On reaching the stop time the unit will return to the standby mode.
Pressing the Standby key (P) during recording will cancel the programme and return the unit to the standby mode. All other keys are disabled during recording.
If the unit is in operational mode, 1 minute before the programme start time the LED Display will flash the programme number about to be activated. After 1 minute the programme number will stop flashing and the LED Display will show the programmed channel number.
To override the program press the Standby key (P).
If the recording times of two or more programmes overlap then priority is given to the programme with the earliest start time. The other conflicting programmers) will be cancelled.

Setting the clock
Press the Prog key (X) to enter the time mode then press the Setup key (U) followed by your 4 digit PIN code to enter the clock setup mode. The current time shown on the LED Display will flash. Enter the new time using the 0 to 9 keys in the U hour format. Press the Store key (V) to store the new time and return the unit to normal operation.
